Principal’s Message, April 9, 2013

We are bringing back Arundel Spirit Days!  Every Wednesday will be a spirit day  at Arundel.  Students and staff are encouraged to wear the school colors which are blue and white.  PTA will have spirit wear available during the Arundel Open House next Wednesday 4/17.  T-shirts, sweatshirts and fleece vests will be available for purchase and order.  Let’s show our spirit tomorrow and wear our school colors!

Last week there was a posting about an Arundel art exhibit at the San Carlos library.  This was incorrect.  However, we do have an art exhibit planned for Open House on 4/17 in Arundel’s MUR

Donate your Used Books to benefit the Arundel Libary!!

There are two opportunities to benefit the Arundel School Library. Arundel Student Alyse is collecting Children’s Books for A ROPES based service project. Children’s books can be dropped off THIS week at the Arundel Library.

In addition, now through May 17th Linda Townsend is collecting all types of books for the Home Town Days used book sale. Yes, it is that time of year again! The school libraries are gearing up for the Used Book Sale during Hometown Days. If you are doing some Spring cleaning, please consider donating your gently used books to the sale. We will take infant to adult, fiction or non fiction, paperback or hardcover. All books can be dropped off at the Arundel Library from now until May 15th. Thank you for your support and your donations!

Principal’s Post, April 2, 2013

A reminder to parents that we will be administering our STAR test to all 2-4 graders during the weeks of April 29 and May 6.  Testing will be completed during the morning session before recess.  It is imperative that students are present and on time.

The calendar for next school year has not been finalized but I wanted to assure parents that I will post this in our newsletter for a few weeks once it has been approved by our school board.

Yearbook Deadline Fast Approaching! April 19th

Only three weeks left to order and customize your 2012-2013 Arundel yearbook! This year we are excited to be working with a new vendor TreeRing. Not only will the book be 80 pages in FULL COLOR, but included in the price ($25+tax) is the option to customize two pages in the book, which will be printed especially for your child.

It’s very easy to customize the pages. You can even upload photos directly from your Facebook or Flickr accounts. The yearbook team has put together a short quick-start guide that gives you information on creating your account, purchasing a book, and customizing your pages.

The pre-order and custom pages deadline is April 19th. PLEASE login and try creating your pages as soon as possible. Don’t wait until the last minute so that if you have any questions or problems, the yearbook team has time to help you.

ATTENTION: LAST CALL FOR PHOTOS

Did you get some great shots of any Arundel events? If so, please logon to:
http://www.treering.com/createAccount?PassCode=1013379736272790 and
upload them to the TreeRing shared folders as soon as possible so we can include them in the yearbook. See our tip sheet on how to upload photos – http://www.arundelknights.org/yearbook/#how-do-i-upload-photos

The deadline for creating the yearbook is coming up and we are in need of the following photos: 100th day of school, talent show, heritage night, 1st grade candids, 3rd Grade candids, staff candids and friendship feasts. Remember, the yearbook will be as good as you make it!

Principal’s Message, March 5, 2013

I hope everyone in our community is planning on coming to Heritage Night next Wednesday March 13, 2013 from 5-7:30pm.  This is one of our major events where we celebrate our diversity with food, music and fun!  There will be so many wonderful foods from around the world to try.  Don’t miss it!

A reminder to parents that are playgrounds are not supervised after school. I have noticed many students who are not a part of our afterschool programs hanging out and waiting for rides well after school is out.  This is simply not safe for children.

Mrs. Larsen has found some great parent education opportunities.  Please browse the following links for upcoming events
