Volunteers Needed for SCEF Opportunities

We are still trying to fill some crucial roles for next year and we need your help. We are looking for an Arundel Chair for the Education Foundation. Please get in touch with me for more information and a job description. It is substantial role but a worthwhile, fun role which will really get you involve in the San Carlos school community. This role can be shared. Grab a friend and join us!

We also need an Arundel Spring Fling Coordinator. This is a role with some time commitment involved but again, such a fun thing to do. Please contact me for more information.
Thanks

Art in Action Network

Some last words on Art in Action… If you would like to have your child’s artwork on display in the office over the summer, please contact Carolyn Danek at cal DOT danek AT att DOT net or leave it in the PTA room. We would love to have some beautiful artwork to display for the people who work and go through the office during the summer. You will be sure to get it back next school year!
Also, John Duarte is taking the last orders for framing your AiA art before summer! Please contact him NOW, johnathan AT gojobs DOT com. For just $35, a donation to SCEF, you could have the artwork mounted and framed!
Finally, thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and efforts to Art in Action. We couldn’t run such a rewarding program for our kids without your help! See you all next fall! Best, Carolyn Danek and Marissa Tsangaropoulos

Arundel 1st Grade Hometown Days Choir

All Arundel first graders are invited to participate in the Hometown Days Concert this Friday, May 17th at 5pm at Burton Park.

1st graders will perform a few songs from their music class at around 6:25pm. They are immediately dismissed after they sing. A parent/guardian must be present; no drop offs will be permitted since their performance will only be 5-10 minutes. Please wear an Arundel tshirt (class shirt, Fun Run, etc.) or Arundel Colors (Blue & White!)

We will meet together at the park at 6:15pm by the sound booth. Immediately after the performance, kids will be dismissed to sit with their parents for the remainder of the concert.

We will have a brief meeting Friday after school from 2:30-2:45pm in the MU to go over what we will be doing that evening. Please pick up your child and bring them with you to the MU for this meeting.

Please let us know if your first grade child would like to participate. We can also use 2 parent volunteers to help manage the kids while we wait to perform. Click here to signup.

I hope many of you can join us!

The school libraries are gearing up for the Used Book Sale during Hometown Days. If you are doing some Spring cleaning, please consider donating your gently used books to the sale. We will take infant to adult, fiction or non fiction, paperback or hardcover. All books can be dropped off at the Arundel Library from now until May 15th. Thank you for your support and your donations!

Arundel Parent Education Night- “Feeding our Families”

Join us Thursday, April 25 at 7PM in the MU Room. Learn mindful strategies to raising healthy, balanced eaters in an environment of abundant food and picky palates. Come join the discussion on mealtime and snacking stresses and successes. Discover the important roles we have as parents in teaching eating behavior and learn that our children have important roles at the table too. Examine the information we can learn about food products to decide whether we want them to come into our kitchen. How to make snacks count and still enjoy the ”sometimes” foods.
